NWSC Regular Season Skills Enhancement Program

Times:  We have adjusted the start times based on registration numbers and to meet the Return to Play parameters provided by ViaSport and BC Soccer.

  • 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm – U7 & U8 (groups 1 and 2)
  • 5:45 pm – 7:00 pm – U9 (group 3)
  • 7:15 pm – 8:30 pm – U10, U11, & U12 (groups 4, 5, and 6)

Cost:  $225.00

General Information: Includes:

  • 21 sessions (60-75 minutes)

  • Potential for friendly games/jamboree evenings and/or weekends (we will determine what we are allowed to do based on BC Soccer’s recommendations)

Requirements:

  • Soccer footwear and shin guards are required
  • Dressed for soccer: shorts or sweats
  • Bring a snack and a water bottle
  • Bring hand sanitizer
  • Sessions run rain or shine
  • Completion of our Return to Play Waiver is mandatory for all players participating in any New Westminster Soccer Club programming.

Space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis only. Registration for any age-groups will close once capacity is reached. There will be limited registrations accepted into this year’s program to meet social gathering restrictions and also due to limited field resources. This will mean we will be able to accommodate less numbers than we have in previous years. Interested participants are encouraged to register early to avoid disappointment. The registration for any age-group will close when capacity is reached.

About the program:

The Skill Enhancement Program (SEP) is set out to provide an additional professionally run training session per week led by certified, selectively recruited coaching staff.  NWSC has introduced this new program design to help our members reach their full potential and develop a passion for soccer.  The SEP is available both for players who are new or still learning to play the sport and wish to improve their skills, as well as for competitive or select players who seek to progress their game to further levels of play.  NWSC’s recruited coaches will equip players with the tools, knowledge, and attitude needed to realize their highest player goals, and succeed in their team environments.

Within the Skill Enhancement Program, our recruited staff along with our director of coaching will tier players into groups depending on their current developmental level.  Our curriculum is established to follow an age specific progression that aligns accordingly to the player development pathway. By participating in the SEP, the training to play ratio for our members will be met especially for those keen on advancing their holistic player profile.  The advised training to play ratio for a select player at U11 should be 3:1. As such, they would train with their select team twice per week and use the SEP session to meet the third training requirement during the week.

At the U7-U10 boys and girls ages, those who are interested in participating will be setting themselves up for a positive progressive platform in the following stages of development. NWSC will work on setting up scheduled matches with out-of-club opponents to challenge and apply curriculum concepts established from the program.  There will be a fluid player movement system in place to challenge and reward those who display increased levels of progress and confidence.

Registration is mandatory. No unregistered players will be allowed to participate. Anyone wishing to make special arrangements can contact the Registrar or Club Manager. Technical Directors and/or coaches will NOT accept registration at the field, nor will they collect any registration fees.

Coaching Staff

  • Coaches are qualified and experienced in working with players of all ages.

Refunds and Cancellations

  • No refunds unless a doctor’s note ($20.00 cancellation fee)
